Shillong Lajong FC will take on Mohun Bagan AC on the 6th November, 2013 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong at 17.30 IST.

Thangboi Singto’s side will look to continue their good run after earning their first home win this season. Shillong Lajong manage to pull off a brilliant display beating Mohammedan Sporting in their last home win banking on Uilliams’ two goal brace. Speaking in a pre-match press conference today, Thangboi Singto said, “It was a great win, 3 points and chapter closed. Tomorrow will be difficult against Mohun Bagan and we will try to get a good result.”

The Mohun Bagan coach was also all praise for his defender and Shillong lad Aibor Khongjee who got his first call-up in the national side. Karim Bencherifa added, “I’ve worked with Aibor for almost a year and he is very educated, strong and I’m happy to see him in the national team.” The Kolkata giants had a poor start to their campaign but are finding their form having registered two wins and a draw in the past three games. Speaking on their poor start Karim said,” Mohun Bagan is a new team with new players and combination takes time. The schedule was also not easy but we are setting, seven points out of nine in three games.”

The home side are still doubting on their key players’ availability in tomorrow’s encounter as Japanese midfielder Taisuke Matsugae and Trinidad striker Cornell Glen are still doubtful. Mohun Bagan also have their fare share of injury setbacks including all time lead scorer Odafa Okelie who has been out since the start of the season.

Shillong Lajong will look for a repeat of the same fixture from last season when the hosts won 2-0 with goals from Boithang and Lalramluaha Hmar. Also present at the pre-match press conference was Lajong midfielder Milan Singh who is “expecting a good crowd tomorrow”. In closing statements, Karim Bencherifa said that he “hopes for a good performance from the referee” so as to bring the game up to a “good standard”.

Shillong Lajong FC are placed 6th in the table with 12 points from 8 games and Mohun Bagan are 7th with 9 points from 7 games.
