Bengaluru FC and PUMA unveil new home kit for 2014-15 season

Bengaluru FC along with kit partners PUMA unveiled the club’s new home colours for the 2014-15 season, at the Bangalore Football Stadium, in Bangalore, on Saturday. The club’s trademark blue received a slick makeover and was presented by ten fans to the players in front of BFC’s famed West Block A stand.

The shirt features red contrast piping along the side of the shirt and white tipping on the sleeves. The slim fit style of the shirt brings a youthful look to the kit, with a tailored button down collar.

Present at the launch were MD PUMA India Rajiv Mehta, Head of Marketing PUMA India Issac John, Bengaluru FC COO Mustafa Ghouse, Director Kunal Agarwal, Head Coach Ashley Westwood and the BFC players led by skipper Sunil Chhetri.

The home kit was unveiled with an exclusive video that showcased the fans giving their stamp of approval on the kits after putting it through several tests. Ten lucky fans who were selected through multiple digital contests held by BFC via social media were invited to be part of this exclusive launch and handed over the new PUMA jersey’s to BFC players: Sunil Chhetri, John Johnson, Robin Singh, Siam Hanghal, Rino Anto, Udanta Singh and Josh Walker. The players even engaged in a casual game of football with the fans – the first time the kits have been used on the playing field.

Talking about the launch, Mustafa Ghouse, COO Bengaluru FC said: “This is a very special moment in the history of Bengaluru FC. We are used to being drowned in a sea of blue and the slick new kit from PUMA is going to make it even more special. We’re sure our boys cannot wait to take the pitch in the new colours. This tie up with PUMA speaks much about our ambitions as a club.”

PUMA India MD, Rajiv Mehta said – “We are very excited to unveil our first kits ever for a football club in India and are even more excited to be associated with a club like Bengaluru FC.  BFC is one of India’s fastest growing and best managed clubs, we look forward to developing the football scenario in India with them.”

Club Director Kunal Agarwal said the unveiling of the jersey was a landmark moment in Bengaluru FC’s history. “The fans have played such a special part in our title triumph last season and it was only fitting that they are involved in an important moment that marks the beginning of the coming season. This is a very special day for all of us at the club.”

The playing kits feature PUMA’s Dry Cell technology that incorporates highly functional materials to keep the players dry by superior moisture management which draw sweat away from skin, enabling quicker evaporation; contrast piping on the sides and ergonomic design for function as well as comfort.

The club’s away and third kits will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The BFC home and away replica jerseys will be available for fans to purchase at select PUMA stores Bangalore from October, 2014.
