David Dein, one of the architects of the Premier League, has confirmed his participation at Soccerex’s Americas Forum, 21-22 October, taking place at the renowned Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Barbados.

Dein will be featuring on a panel titled ‘Expanding Into Football History’ looking at league creation and expansion, he will be speaking alongside MLS Commissioner Don Garber and W Connection FC owner David Williams, two members of the special CONCACAF Task Force set up to look into the formation of a Caribbean Premier League.

An incredibly influential figure in the global game, Dein is the former Vice Chairman of the FA and Arsenal and is often credited as the brains behind the creation of the Premier League in 1992. Dein played a key role in helping to transform the English game into the multi-billion pound industry it is today and will bring a huge amount of knowledge and industry experience to the panel.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber has been pivotal to the expansion of the MLS which has grown from having 10 clubs, when Garber was appointed to his role in 1999, to welcoming its 21st club in 2015.  Having signed a deal to stay in his role until 2019, Garber will be at the Forum to highlight MLS’s rise within the American sports industry in addition to contributing to discussions around the feasibility of a potential Caribbean professional football league given his role as a member of the Caribbean Professional League’s Task Force.

David Williams is another member of the Caribbean Professional League’s Task Force and has a wealth of experience in sport across the continent.  Given his role as owner and president of Digicel Premier League side W Connection FC, Williams has the insider knowledge of what it takes to run a Caribbean football club and will be invaluable member of the Task Force that is seeking to create a Caribbean Premier League.

Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie commented: “Given the rise in football across the continent and the proposals for a Caribbean Professional Football League, the discussion will offer some groundbreaking insight into the future of football in the region. We are delighted to be holding our 2014 Americas forum in Barbados and very excited that David, Don and Damien will be bringing their industry knowledge and commercial experience to the event which looks set to be a great couple of days.”
