Chennaiyin FC assistant coach Vivek Nagul and defender Gouramangi Moiranthem Singh were quite positive ahead of their Hero Indian Super League match against NorthEast United FC on Saturday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Vivek Nagul said, “The mood is very positive as we came back well to earn a point against Atletico Kolkata. Now we are aiming for maximum points at home tomorrow.”

“They (NorthEast United) are a fast and youthful side. But we have done our preparations and would look to implement it.”

“It is not easy playing every three days so if needed we will rotate but it will all depend on situation of matches and injuries,” Nagul added.

Nagul was accompanied by experienced Indian international Gouramangi Moiranthem Singh at the press conference. Gouramangi is well aware of the strengths of the visitors. “They are a very talented side but our coaches have done the homework so we would look to be at our best and get the three points tomorrow,” he told.

Asked about playing across the back four, he said, “Yes all my life I have played in central defence but I don’t mind doing a job for the team in other positions also. I am getting used to playing in wide roles.”

“For me every game and training session is a learning experience. Of course it helps further when you share the dressing room and pitch with some of the best players in the world. It gives you more confidence.”

The Chennaiyin FC v NorthEast United FC match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will kick-off at 19.00 IST.
