Sporting Clube de Goa will look to move onwards and upwards when they take on Shillong Lajong FC in the Hero I-League, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, in Goa, on Saturday. The kick off time is 19.00 IST.

The Flaming Oranje has collected four points from nine games, while Shillong have six points from eight outings and are also eyeing victory in this encounter.

Sporting Goa believes that they are much better than where they are presently placed on the league table and will strive to prove it by getting the three points which are up for grabs on Saturday.

The Goan outfit rallied the troops just seven days back when they held East Bengal Club to a 2-2 draw after coming back from two goals down to rescue a valuable point. This has done their confidence the world of good and they will now be looking to build on that performance.

Shillong on the other hand sat out the last round. In their last game before the international break they were handed a 1-2 defeat by Salgaocar FC at the same venue.

The danger man for the North-East outfit is their marquee player Trinidad & Tobago forward Cornell Glen who has found the back of the net six times so far.

Sporting Goa’s marquee striker Anthony Wolfe who also hails from Trinidad & Tobago will look to add to his tally of three goals.

Both players will put their friendship on hold for 90 minutes as they search for success for their respective teams.
