Mohammedan Sporting Club will be to looking bounce back from a disappointing 1-2 loss to Tollygunge Agragami when they take on Bhawanipore Club on Saturday in the ongoing Calcutta Premier Division – A at Barasat Stadium.

“The game against Tollygunge was a tough one. Despite the difficulties we faced because of the muddy surface, the boys put on a decent performance. We had our chances but at the end it was our mistakes that proved costly,” Mohammedan SC Head Coach Mridul Banerjee said on the eve of the clash.

Coach Banerjee knows it very well that the clash against Bhawanipore won’t be a easy one, especilay after going down 1-2 against East Bengal last week Bhawanipore will also come hard to take maximum points from the fixture.

“Bhawanipore are a very strong side. Though they are currently at the bottom of the table but they are fully capable of a comeback, so it will be a challenging match against them and we just cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the last match,” he added further.

Mohammedan Sporting, who fielded a same squad in their first two matches, are expected to make a few changes against Bhawanipore as Kamran Farooque is likely to make way for Pranit Lama Tamang while Dipendu Dowary could start over Sheikh Faiaz.

Bhawanipore, on the other hand, made a slow start to the season and only managed to garner a points from two outings. Going into the game, Bhawanipore will be heavily depending on the Nigerian striker Orok Orok Essien for goals upfront while the likes of Shylo Malsawmtluanga, Manish Bhargav and Tirthankar Sarkar will be adding to the options in the midfield.

The last time when the two sides met it was in the 2014 Federation Cup, where Mohammedan SC had a rather comfortable 2-0 victory courtesy a goal each from Josimar and Rakesh Masih in Kerala, something the Black and Whites will look to replicate two years later.

The match at Barasat Stadium kicks off at 17.30 IST on Saturday and it will be televised on ETV News Bangla.
