The Atlético Paranaense U-17 side proved to be too strong for the India U-16 national team in the second match of the ongoing Atlético Paranaense U-17 International Tournament. India were on the receiving end as the host team garnered a 4-0 win on Tuesday, on the second matchday of the tournament.

Atlético Paranaense started on a high tempo and they did not need more than 15 minutes to find the back of the net. Four minutes later, they doubled the lead from a long well-taken corner.

India U-16 Head Coach Nicolai Adam quickly tried to reshuffle his strategies by introducing Abhijit in the place of Aman Chetri.

At the stroke of the half-time, the Atlético Paranaense striker headed another goal from a looping cross from the right flank.

Nicolai opted for double substitution in the second half in the likes of Shubham and Sarif, having withdrawn Aniket and Sanjeev respectively but that could not deter the inevitable.

The home team nailed the final one in India’s coffin in the 56th minute to take all three points home.

India are slated to face the Uruguay U-17 national team in the last fixture of the round robin stage tonight at 22.00 IST.
