The All India Football Federation (AIFF) alongwith 21 other AFC Member Associations is participating in the first ever AFC Women’s Coaching Tutors Course, which kicked-off in Shanghai, China on June 20, 2017 and is slated to concluded on June 29, 2017.

25 members have been participating in the Course including Indian U-16 Head Coach Maymol Rocky and Goalkeeping Coach of the Indian Senior National Team Ronibala Chanu.

The main objective of the course is to train and promote talented women coaches to become coach educators, leaders and role models for future women’s team coaches. All the participating coaches have an ‘A’ or ‘B’ coaching certificate, a prerequisite for participation.

The tutors at the 10-day programme are the AFC’s Assistant Technical Director and Head of Coach Education Wim Koevermans and UEFA pro-licensed coach and former head coach of the Netherlands, Russia, Scotland and South Africa women’s national teams Vera Pauw.

“The Course will certainly help us to evolve into better coaches tutors by learning the nitty-gritty of football. Learning is a process which never stops and this Course has helped us massively in our quest for knowledge”, said Maymol Rocky.

“Being a coach tutor means to guide future coaches and help them in to become better in their job. The Course hence enables us to learn the new technical patterns and coaching styles”, stated Ronibala Chanu.

With 23 other Coaches from AFC affiliated Member Associations there can be a lot of football to discuss amongst the group itself.

“We have been learning from our fellow participants as well. There is always something new to learn in football and discussion about various footballing topic helps to evaluate and understand football even more”, informed Maymol.
