Germany U-17 coach Christian Wück: Indians are very much looking forward to this World Cup

The German U-17 national team will be one of the 24 countries hoping to impress at the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017. The Germans will face Iran, Guinea and Costa Rica in an interesting Group C which will be based in Goa.

Germany will kick-off their FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 campaign against Costa Rica at the Jawaharalal Nehru Stadium in Goa on October 7th, before they take on Iran at the same venue on October 10. The final group stage match against Guinea will be hosted at the Jawaharalal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on October 13.

Talking to the official website of the German FA (DFB), Head Coach Christian Wück said, “We’re happy with the draw. The match-ups against Costa Rica, Iran, and Guinea will prove to be a different experience for our boys as we’re coming against totally different mindsets.”

“The atmosphere was exceptional,” Wück commented on the Official Draw in Mumbai on Friday, which he attended together with DFB colleagues Maika Fischer and Markus Schneeweis. “The people are very much looking forward to this World Cup. It’s a real advantage to be able to play our group-stage games in Goa and Kochi.”

The FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 is scheduled to start on October 6 as hosts India face the United States in the Opening Match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
