The Trophy Experience for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 opened to an overwhelming response this weekend in the Capital as more than 250,000 people lined up to look and pose with the silverware at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium and India Gate.

Manufactured by Thomas Fattorini Ltd. In 2004, the Cup stands 49.5cm talls and weighs 4.56kgs.

The ‘experience’ which will encompass the 6 host cities for what will be India’s first global footballing extravaganza will allow more and more people to get close to the aforementioned prize which 24 teams from across the globe would contest for between October 6 and 28 later this year.

Present at the event, Project Director for the Local Organising Committee for the tournament, Joy Bhattacharjya said, “The Trophy Experience is not only for the hardcore football fans. It’s an attempt to bring together everyone in the country to sit up and take notice of what I believe will be a game-changer in Indian sports.

What I saw was very encouraging thus – people walked in with their families, seemed to have a good time but more importantly for us, got educated about the event and even bought some tickets for the India games in the city.”

The next few days will see the Trophy being put up on display in adidas stores in Connaught Place and Ambience Mall, Gurgaon today and the Sansad Marg branch of Bank of Baroda tomorrow.

Elaborating on that, Bhattacharjya added, “The commercial affiliates are important partners for us – most of them have massive user bases and taking the Trophy to their outlets only helps to spread the word more. I would strongly recommend visiting these places to everyone who happens to be around – trust me, it would be an experience like no other.”

August 21 – adidas stores in CP and Ambience Mall, Gurgaon
August 22 – Bank of Baroda, Sansad Marg Branch
