Bengaluru FC ‘B’ got off to a winning start in the BDFA Super Division League with a dominant 2-0 victory over CIL FC at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Friday.

A second half brace from B. Lalnuntluanga (60th & 65th minute) handed BFC ‘B’ all three points in the league opener with over 200 people in attendance at the venue.

The game began with the Blues dominating possession in the first half. However, some deep defending by CIL FC denied Ajay Chhetri, Cletus Paul and Asheer Akhtar on numerous occasions as both sides went into the breather locked at goalless.

Coach Naushad Moosa introduced Sk. Azaruddin for the second half and his pace down the flanks made the difference. The winger managed to trouble the rival defense before finally creating the first goal at the hour mark. A quick counter attack saw BFC ‘B’ get free on the left, before Azaruddin’s perfectly timed cross was headed in at the first post by Lalnuntluanga to break the deadlock. Five minutes later, Lalnuntluanga finished off Shahabaaz Khan’s cross, once again from the left, for his second of the day.

The Bengaluru FC ‘B’ team will now face RWF FC in Round-2 on Sunday at the Bangalore Football Stadium.
