AFC Level 1 Futsal Course commences at Aizawl

The AFC Level 1 Futsal Course commenced on Monday at Aizawl under Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Instructor Steven Knight.

The course was launched in the morning at Ramhlun Sports Complex. Over ten Mizo football coaches and one from out of state signed up for this course where they will study detailed aspects of FUtsal for six days.

Theory sessions will be followed by practical sessions with instructor Knight saying, “Theory lession cannot mould a good coach, so we will have as much practical sessions as possible.”

Lalnghinglova Hmar, MFA Hony. Secretary and Chairman, Futsal Committee stated that we are very fortunate to have an AFC Elite instructor teaching us in-depth aspects of futsal. He also spoke of the importance of coaches in the implementation of Futsal in Mizoram and at national level.

The Mizoram Football Association has set up a Futal Committee tu ensure successful implementation of futsal in the state.

The Futsal Committee will kick off a Futsal League which will have 16 teams competing in January. There are 40 Futsal teams currently registered under the Futsal Committee.

A League playoff and one other tournanemnt has already been successfully organised and it currently has plans in motion to organise a tournament for Division One futsal Clubs.

Trivandrum has previously played host to AFC Futsal Level I course in 2011.
