India go down to Bangladesh but qualify for SAFF U-15 Women’s Champinship final

The India U-15 side suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of hosts Bangladesh in their final group encounter of the ongoing SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship in Dhaka today (December 21).

After registering comfortable victories against Bhutan and Nepal in the first two matches, the eves met their match against the eastern neighbours.

Anuching Mogini opened the scoring with her strike in the 32nd minute before Shamsunnahar doubled her team’s lead with penalty on the stroke of halftime. Forward Monika Chakma then scored early in the second half to complete the win.

India next face Bangladesh final on December 24 after finishing 2nd in the group phase.
