Chennaiyin FC’s U-15 team drew 3-3 with RV Soccer School in a thrilling Under 15 Youth League fixture at the SSN College Ground here today.

Following the expulsion of Oyyabo Sports, CFC are now top of the U15 Youth League standings with 5 wins and 2 draws. They need one more point against Football Plus in the next match on Saturday, January 13 to progress to the final round, having beaten them 1-0 in the corresponding fixture.

The first half was a pretty even affair with both sides failing to convert their chances. However, RVSS managed to breach the CFC defence at the end of the first half through K. Nivas’ opener. CFC fell further behind soon after the break as Kamalesh made it 2-0 to RVSS.

The boys in blue then mounted a tremendous comeback in the ensuing minutes, as Aswin M. pulled a goal back. With fifteen minutes to go, the scores were level at 2-2 as Pravin Saravanan scored for Chennaiyin.

There was more drama in store as Vashishta helped RVSS regain the lead in the dying moments. But it wasn’t to be for RVSS as CFC were handed a penalty with seconds to go as Jaya Ruban was illegally brought down in the box after a brilliant solo run. Sai Krishnan converted the penalty to complete a dramatic turnaround for CFC and end proceedings at 3-3.
