Chennaiyin FC’s U-15 team drew 2-2 with Football Plus in their final U-15 Youth League group match at the SSN College Ground here today. The result means CFC qualify for the final round of the U-15 Youth League, having won the Chennai zone without losing a game.

After an evenly fought out first half hour of the game, Chennaiyin took the lead through Aswin M’s header from a corner in the 35th minute. It soon became 2-0 courtesy a beautiful long range free-kick by Suriya Kumar. Football Plus then halved the deficit from the penalty spot just before half-time, following a foul by CFC keeper Aron R. Bexon Dilly Don converted the spot kick for the visitors.

Football Plus came hard at Chennaiyin FC after the interval in search of an equalizer. They won another penalty but this time Aron R. made a brilliant save from Bexon’s spot kick. However, Football Plus drew level in the dying moments, and Bexon it was yet again, finishing off a good team move. CFC held on though in the ensuing minutes for a valuable point.

The result also means CFC have done the double over Football Plus, having beaten them 1-0 in the league’s opening round.
