Sporting Clube de Goa defeated FC Goa 2-1 in a GFA Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.

Victorino Fernandes scored both the goals for the Flaming Oranje while Hayden Fernandes netted the solitary goal for FC Goa.

FC Goa players tried hard to retain possession in the first half of the match wherein FC Goa’s Hayden Fernandes missed a chance to score a goal in the initial minutes of the game.

Sporting Clube de Goa’s Abiola Afuwape tried his best for his team at the other end, however, he failed time and again. The flaring tempo of the match resulted in a lot of yellow cards being flashed out to a couple of players during the first session of the match. There was no difference in the scores as both the teams canceled out the advances made by the rivals.

After the breather, Sporting Clube de Goa looked energetic and managed to find the breakthrough in the 64thminute of the match through Victorino Fernandes astonishing strike at the goal.

Struck by the reverse, FC Goa fought hard to get back into the game however the Flaming Oranje managed to score yet another goal through Victorino Fernandes in the 76 th minute to get a two-goal lead.

The FC Goa squad, however, didn’t give up and after a lot of futile attempts managed to narrow the margin through Hayden Fernandes’ 89th minute strike, making it 2-1.
