Defending I-League champions Aizawl FC have announced the appointment of Santosh Kashyap as the new head coach.
The former Mumbai FC head coach succeeds Paulo Meneses who was sacked by the club on Monday after a poor run in the ongoing 2017/18 I-League season.
“It is a proud moment for me,” said Kashyap in an official release by Aizawl FC. “Joining a club in the middle of the season is a big challenge for me as well, so I’ll use my experience to try and do something great for the club.”
“We’ll plan one match at a time, and with the help of the fans and management we’ll give our best to put the club in a better atmosphere.”
The 51 year old AFC pro licence holder has coached Air India, Mohun Bagan, ONGC, Rangdajied United, Royal Wahingdoh, Salgaocar FC and Mumbai FC during professinal coaching career.
Aizawl FC face the Indian Arrows in their next I-League fixture on February 16.
