Borussia Dortmund is all set for a nine-day summer tour of the United States. The Bundesliga giants will embark on the journey tomorrow morning on a direct flight from Düsseldorf to Chicago.

The players and coaching staff will engage with their US-based fans during the tour which will take them to Chicago, Charlotte and Pittsburgh.

BVB are scheduled to face Manchester City FC (July 20, Soldier Field Stadium, Chicago), Liverpool FC (July 22, Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte) and SL Benfica (July 26, Heinz Field, Pittsburgh) in the International Champions Cup (ICC).

The club has planned the tour in such a way that new head coach Lucien Favre and his squad would be granted as much as possible time for training sessions, while they would also take care of marketing activities in the United States.

“We’ve planned PR appointments around football and not vice versa,” Carsten Cramer, Managing Director, Borussia Dortmund, told on the club website. He is also hopeful that the tour will help the club to “reach as many people as possible and generate as much interest as possible.”

Meanwhile, 2018 FIFA World Cup participants Marco Reus, Lukasz Piszczek and Achraf Hakimi are expected to link up with the squad in the US.
