Mizoram Premier League – Season 7 to begin from September 6

The new season of the Mizoram Premier League will begin from September 6, 2018 at AR Lammual. The 7th edition of the league will be officially launched on August 31 at the Chanmari YMA Hall.

Eight clubs – Aizawl FC, Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, Chanmari FC, Chawnpui FC, Chhinga Veng FC, Electric Veng FC, Mizoram Police FC and Ramhlun North FC will battle for the ultimate prize this season.

The eight teams will face each other twice in the league rounds where the bottom team in the league will be relegated to back its own District Football Association. The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals which will be a double-legged tie while the final will be a one-off. The final of MPL-7 is scheduled to take place on December 7, 2018.

MPL matches will all be played at the AR Lammual, save for one round which will be played outside of Aizawl. The round and the venue are yet to be determined. The fixtures at AR Lammual will be 2pm and 7pm kickoffs.

Ticket prices for league rounds will be Rs. 30, while Rs. 50 for the semifinals while the finals will be Rs. 100. Students wearing school uniforms and citizens above the age of 65 will gain free entry.

The Mizoram Premier League Under-18 is also set to start from late-October with registration open for clubs till September. The MPL Under-18 Board will determine the direction and pre-requisites for the league.
