NorthEast United FC announce Arthur Papas as assistant coach

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announce that Australian Arthur Papas will be the assistant coach of Eelco Schattorie for the 2018/19 season.

38 year old Melbourne-born Arthur ‘Papas’ Papastamatis returns to India after having come for the first-time in 2012 to coach the India Under-23s. Thereafter he joined the Pailan Arrows to coach the AIFF Developmental side in the 2012/13 I-League.

Thereafter he joined former I-League champions Dempo SC in 2013 and after a decent first season, he was fired after a heavy 1-5 loss to East Bengal. In-between Arthur Papas was assistant coach to Zico at FC Goa in the inaugural Indian Super League in 2014.

Before joining NorthEast United FC, Arthur Papas was assistant coach at Saudi Professional League club Ettifaq FC to Schattorie whom he rejoins in India.
