Mizoram Police to play in the Mizoram Premier League semifinals

Mizoram Police FC saw off a valiant challenge from semifinal rivals Electric Veng FC on Friday evening with a 2-1 victory sealing their spot in the last four.

R. Malsawmtluanga struck a brilliant freekick in the 13th minute to give Mizoram Police a deserved half-time lead.

Electric Veng FC showed their grit in the second half and responded five minutes after the restart when midfielder H. Lalfakzuala struck from Vanlalremkima’s freekick.

With a place in the last four at stake, both teams looked for the winner and it was Mizoram Police who succeeded on the 75th minute when Lalfakzuala fnished a cross from Lalbiakhlua.

The result saw Mizoram Police FC earn 21 points from 14 games as they usurped Electric Veng FC who eventually ended up in fifth place after Chanmawi FC had defeated Aizawl FC on Saturday evening.
