It was tale of two halves at Duler Stadium, as Bardez Football Club and Velsao Sports and Cultural Club played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in a Goa Pro League match, on Monday.

While Velsao’s Bersal Veigas stole the limelight in the first half, Cho Lepcha was the hero in the second half for Bardez as both the players scored a brace each for their sides.

The first half was all about Velsao SCC and they deservingly took the lead in the 10th minute when Bersal scored the first after receiving a pass from Flan Gomes.

With no much action in the first half, it looked like the teams are heading into the tunnels with a 1-0 scoreline but Velsao were awarded a free-kick just outside the box, which Bersal converted with a curling strike beating the wall and keeper, 2-0.

In the second half, Bardez came back stronger and almost levelled terms in the first quarter but the Velsao keeper pulled a stunning save to deny Lepcha.

However, Bardez were awarded a penalty at the hour mark when Velsao keeper brought down a Bardez player in the box. Lepcha stepped over and coolly finished the spot kick to bring his team back into the game.

After missing on many opportunities, Lepcha finally levelled terms for Bardez when he made the best of the rebound which fell into his path, to draw level, 2-2.
