DSC Arminia Bielefeld

DSC Arminia Bielefeld has appointed Uwe Neuhaus as their new head coach. Neuhaus will succeed Jeff Saibene who was sacked by the Bundesliga 2 club as a consequence to poor results in league and cup competitions this season.

The 59 year old new head coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2020 and he will conduct his first training session at Arminia Bielefeld today at 15:00 CET. He will be assisted by new assistant coach Peter Németh, who replaces Carsten Rump in the position.

Neuhaus has played for RW Essen and SG Wattenscheid during his career as a professional footballer. He started his coaching career at SG Wattenscheid and VfB Hüls, before joined Borussia Dortmund as a first team assistant coach cum head coach of the U-23 team from 1998 to 2005. He then went on to coach Rot-Weiss Essen (from April 2005 to November 2006) and 1.FC Union Berlin (2007 to 2014), while his last coaching assignment was at SG Dynamo Dresden from July 2015 to August 2018.

Bielefeld is currently placed 14th in the league standings and in a dangerous position which could push them into relegation struggle.
