Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the December rankings, India stay 97th position behind Estonia, but ahead of Faroe Islands; while 2018 FIFA World Cup semifinalists Belgium stays No. 1.

India have 1240 points, the same as last month and they stay in 15th position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India didn’t play any games and they next face Oman on December 28 in Abu Dhabi before playing in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of the Maldives (152nd), Nepal (161st), Bhutan (186th), Bangladesh (192nd), Pakistan (199th) and Sri Lanka (201st) in what was another mixed month for the region.

There were no changes across the Top 5. Belgium (1,727 points) are No. 1, just ahead of FIFA World Cup winners France (1,726 pts), Brazil (1,676 points), Croatia (1,634 pts), and England (1,631 pts) to complete the top five.
