Bengaluru FC B secured their second successive win on the road in the Hero 2nd Division League after a dominant 4-0 defeat of ARA FC at The Arena, TransStadia in Ahmedabad on Monday. A second-half brace from substitute Lalnuntluanga (67’, 80’), after first half goals from Advait Shinde (37’) and Naorem Roshan Singh (44’) had put BFC B 2-0 up at the breather, maintained the Blue Colts’ perfect start to the campaign.

The result took BFC B’s tally to six points after Round-Two as Naushad Moosa’s boys went three points clear at the top of Group-A ahead of their first home game of the campaign later this week. Having made one change to the line up as Parag Shrivas slotted in at left-back in place of Biswa Darjee, BFC B began the game on the offensive.

After some early chances fell to Advait and Emanuel, the Blue Colts had their best opportunity to break the deadlock in the 27th minute. Winger Leon Augustine was brought down in the box after some good play by Namgyal Bhutia and skipper Myron Mendes stepped up to take the penalty. His effort was saved brilliantly by Abhishek Das in the ARA goal who dived to his left to keep the scores level.

The disappointment didn’t last long as Advait found the net just ten minutes later. Playmaker Altamash Sayed found Bhutia on the right with an aerial ball who then slid in a low cross into the box for Advait to tap home with ease.

A minute from the break, BFC B doubled their lead when Altamash once again created an opening. With a deft chip, he sent attacker Roshan Singh clear in the rival half whose brilliant first touch allowed him to set up a perfect volley and finish off past the helpless Das in the rival goal.

Moosa’s boys continued their dominant play in the second half before finally netting their third minutes past the hour mark. Substitute Lalnuntluanga, who had just entered the field to replace Advait, found himself in a great position in the box. Parag who controlled a long ball inside the box on the left set the striker up for a close finish. Although Lalnuntluanga’s effort was blocked, the rebound fell for Parag who once again passed it to the striker, who made no mistake in his second effort, in the 67th minute.

Lalnuntluanga then sealed the 4-0 victory in the 80th minute when he controlled a perfect long ball from fellow substitute Amal Das to finish past an advanced goalkeeper for his second of the afternoon.

Bengaluru FC B return home, as they host Hindustan FC at the Bangalore Football Stadium on January 25.
