Bengaluru FC B are set to host Hindustan FC in their first home game of the Hero 2nd Division League 2018-19 when they face off at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, in Bengaluru, on Friday.

Going into the game on the back of two successive away wins Naushad Moosa’s boys are riding high on confidence. However, he expects his team to stay away from any complacency against a side who is yet to pick up any points.

“I say this often but I don’t think it’s going to be an easy game for us. We’ve had contrasting results compared to Hindustan FC, and these are the situations where youngsters might get complacent. Scenarios like these will help them as they progress in their career and I expect my boys to be careful and take this game seriously. We want to keep playing the way we have been playing so far and try to win this game. We had two sessions before the game and we’ve worked on the mistakes from the last outing,” said Moosa on the eve of the game.

While the Blue Colts’ have taken a three-point lead at the top in Group A after two rounds, they’ve also netted eight times so far which is the most by any team in the 2nd Division this season. On the other hand, Hindustan FC come into the game on the back of two disappointing defeats. While they opened their campaign with a narrow 3-4 loss to ARA FC in Ahmedabad, they went down 0-6 to FC Goa Reserves on Monday. Playing their third successive away game, the Delhi-based side will be eager to bounce back and get their first points of the campaign against BFC B.

“Hindustan FC have a lot of new players and it takes time for players to gel. After two games, they will definitely be in better shape and have an understanding of each other. They will be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their team and will definitely try to come back stronger at us. I don’t want my players to be casual in any game and certainly not on Friday. Winning or losing is part of the game, but it’s important that they stick to our plan and enjoy the football,” added Moosa.

While the game will be the last before the league takes a month-long break for the Santosh Trophy, Moosa believes it’s vital for his colts to get a positive result on Friday. “I honestly wish we didn’t have a long break as we don’t want to halt the momentum. At BFC, our philosophy is to play attacking football with the aim of winning every game, so momentum plays a big role. A few of our players will join the Karnataka State Team for the Santosh Trophy and this is a platform for them as well. The exposure and the games that they play will help them build confidence when they return for the second half of the campaign.”

The game kicks off at 3.30 pm at the Bengaluru Football Stadium.
