German Bundesliga record champions FC Bayern Munich today announced that club legend Franck Ribery of France will not be renewing his contract.

It means a massive transition for Bayern Munich with not only Franck Ribery but also Dutch winger Arjen Robben, both jointly known as Robbery, leaving the club in the summer.

“When I came to Bayern, it was a dream come true. It won’t be easy to say goodbye, but we must never forget what we’ve achieved together,” enthused Ribéry, “we’ve won so much together – more than 20 honours.”

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said, “Franck and Arjen are great players. FC Bayern owes a lot to both of them and we will give them a wonderful and emotional farewell. They’ve helped shape FC Bayern’s most successful decade with fantastic football.”

Robben had already announced at the end of 2018 that he would be leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

There will be a major farewell and testimonial match for both players in 2020.
