Mohammedan Sporting Club began their campaign in the 2019/20 Calcutta Premier Division A with a 1-1 draw against Aryan Club on Wednesday.
On a rainy afternoon at Mohammedan Sporting Ground, Aryan took the lead through Ademola Kuti in the 11th minute. Nonetheless, Mohammedan SC struck back just three minutes later when Tirthankar Sarkar’s corner surprised Aryan custodian Subhadip Banerjee and found the back of the net.
Mohammedan Sporting will now shift focus to Durand Cup when they take on Indian Navy in a Group B fixture on August 10 at Howrah Stadium.
