India move up to 57th in FIFA Women’s World Rankings

Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the fourth rankings of 2019, India moved up a spot to be in 57th position behind Northern Ireland and ahead of Venezuela.

India have 1432 points, eight more than last month and they retain their 11th position in the Asian (AFC) Women’s rankings.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Nepal (97th), Bangladesh (130th), Sri Lanka (136th), the Maldives (138th), and Bhutan (150th) with Pakistan currently unranked.

There were no changes in the top 5. The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup winners United States (2,174 pts) retain top spot ahead of Germany (2,078 pts); the Netherlands (2.035 pts), France (2,033 pts) and Sweden (2,022 pts) to complete the top five.
