Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt opens New York office

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt took another major step in its ongoing internationalization on Friday by opening its own club office on the premises of main sponsor Indeed in Manhattan, not far from Times Square. The move sees Eintracht set up shop in America 69 years after the club’s so-called “Goodwill Tour” of New York, which played a significant role in financing the restoration of the Eagles’ old Riederwald stadium after it was damaged during World War II.

“New York City is the right place for Eintracht Frankfurt to open its club office in the USA,” said Eintracht board member Axel Hellmann. “Our partners in America now have the opportunity to get to know Eintracht Frankfurt in the heart of New York City. It’s an important step in our internationalization process. Our ongoing collaboration with main sponsor Indeed was a key factor in ensuring this magnificent opportunity came to pass. In finalizing this move, both parties are reaffirming their commitment to an outstanding partnership.”

Numerous partners from the worlds of sport and economics as well as club acquaintances will gather at Times Square this evening to celebrate the opening of the new office. “Soccer continues to play an increasingly important role among US professional sports and shows major growth in the men’s and women’s departments,” said board member Fredi Bobic, who is delighted Eintracht has decided to open an office in his favorite city. “Now, over 24 million Americans play soccer. For us athletes, the USA is a significant target market due to its sports innovation and excellent training possibilities. The new office in New York will help us to achieve our goals and is an essential and important step to have a sustainable, long-lasting footing in the USA.”

Paul D’Arcy, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Indeed, added, “Our partnership with Eintracht Frankfurt has been strong over the last two seasons. The club truly feels like an extension of our team, sharing our values and supporting our mission helping people get jobs. Eintracht kindly opened the doors to their club and the city of Frankfurt for us since we partnered, and we are now thrilled to have the chance to welcome them in New York and support them on their international expansion.”
