Mohammedan Sporting Club will look to continue their momentum in the ongoing 2019/20 Hero 2nd Division League when they host Chennaiyin FC Reserves in their third Group B fixture at Kalyani Stadium on Thursday.

The match is slated for a 2:30 PM kick-off and will be broadcast LIVE on Kolkata TV with online streaming available on Kolkata TV’s YouTube channel.

The Black Panthers are leading the Group B standings with 6 points from two matches, and technical director Dipendu Biswas is keen for his players to build on their previous two outings.

“We just want to keep adding to our performances. We have said after game one that we want to get better, and after game two we want to get better for game three,” he said.

Despite his side’s recent success, Biswas insists his side cannot afford to be complacent.

“We are pretty happy with the work we have done so far but we take nothing for granted. Every team in our group is strong. We will have to work really hard to overcome them. We are focussed and have a strong mentality. We hope to get another good result another win,” he said.

The former India striker admits he has limited knowledge of their opponents, but he is confident his side will be able to deal with any challenge thrown at them.

“I don’t know much about Chennaiyin, and it’s not easy to come up with a strategy when you are not sure about their style and the type of football they play, so it will be a challenge. But it’s a challenge we are looking forward to. It’s important we start strong and we score goals,” said Biswas.

Leading up to the match the team morale is high and the players can’t wait to face their next challenge according to the technical director.

“The mood is really good, really nice environment, players are really positive, we have everyone available to us, so we are just really looking forward to playing Chennaiyin,” Biswas informed.

According to Biswas there is a healthy competition for places within the Mohammedan squad and every player is desperate to impress the coaching team.
