The FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga (FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga) will commence the 2020-21 season with an opening match between reigning champions VfL Wolfsburg and SGS Essen on September 4.

The match between Wolfsburg and Essen will take place at the AOK Stadion in Wolfsburg and it will be the rematch of last season’s DFB Women’s Cup (DFB-Pokal der Frauen) final.

Newly promoted sides SV Werder Bremen and SV Meppen start their campaign with away games on September 6. Bremen travel to Frankfurt to face Eintracht Frankfurt who replace 1. FFC Frankfurt in the league after the two Frankfurt sides merged their clubs recently. Meppen hope to impress in an away encounter at MSV Duisburg.

Last season’s runners-up FC Bayern Munich will play host to SC Sand on the same day, while Turbine Potsdam welcome TSG Hoffenheim at their home ground and SC Freiburg take on Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The kick-off times will be announced in early August.
