Sarpreet Singh and Christian Früchtl are going out on loan to 1. FC Nürnberg for the 2020/21 season. Singh’s move takes place with immediate effect, while Früchtl will join up following Bayern’s final UEFA Champions League match. The goalkeeper will train with Nürnberg as a guest until then.

FC Bayern’s Hasan Salihamidžic said, “Christian and Sarpreet were key figures for our Reserves in the third division and played their part in winning the league. What they need at their current stage is match practice at a higher level. 1. FC Nürnberg can offer them that in Bundesliga 2. I have no doubt that Christian and Sarpreet will break through and gain important experience. I’d like to thank [sporting director] Dieter Hecking for the good discussions.”

Sarpreet Singh joined FC Bayern from Wellington Phoenix in summer 2019. Last season, the 21-year-old forward made 22 appearances in the third division, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists. The New Zealand international also made two senior appearances under Hansi Flick for the first team.

Früchtl has been at FC Bayern since 2014. Following his move from SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf, the now 20-year-old progressed through the U-16s, U-17s and U-19s. The Germany youth international became the first choice for the FCB Reserves, making 37 appearances in the Regionalliga and 27 in the side that won the third division last season.
