“The first game is key,” said Jose Hevia. “We are starting with a clear mindset and that is to win the Hero I-League. Our preparations have gone very well. This match will serve to see the implementation of the pre-season preparations.”

Mohammedan Sporting Club will be facing debutantes Sudeva Delhi FC in the 2020/21 Hero I-League opener at Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan on Saturday, kick-off 2 pm.

Speaking after taking his charges through their pre-match session, an upbeat and optimistic Black Panthers Head Coach said: “We need to have a positive start. The first match is always very important because it will give us confidence to head into the rest of the tournament. We will approach the game with all the seriousness it deserves.”

“I think we are well prepared and the atmosphere is positive and players want to give their best. For us the philosophy remains to live a day at a time.” he added.

When he was asked if he has any information about their opponents or not his answer was a straightforward no. However, he later explained: “Since it’s the first match of the season both teams haven’t been exposed that much. It’s not just that we don’t have information about them, it applies to Sudeva as well.”
