Minerva Academy FC sponsored a full day of special meals and distributed rations to the unprivileged people living on the streets of the Chennai suburbs.

The club collaborated with a local social worker, Shyam, and his team to identify the places and people in need of help.

On May 21, 2021, with an inspired commitment to serve the community, Minerva Academy FC sponsored a full day of nutritious meals and offered a special prayer for almost 65 orphan children of the Good Life Center located in Tambaram, Chennai.

Amidst rising cases across Tamil Nadu, the state government has implemented strict restrictions to curb the virus. The state capital, Chennai, is also in complete lockdown due to the surge in cases during the second wave of Covid-19.

In these tough times, the social working-group visited underprivileged areas of Pammal and distributed rations sponsored by Minerva to a total of 17 families that include a Divyang family too.

Then on May 28, 2021, the group visited a total of five areas near Chennai Airport (Pallavaram, Pammal, Pozhichalur, Anangputhur, and Thangal) and distributed packaged food and drinking water to people living on the streets.

Speaking about the initiative, Ranjit Bajaj, Director of Minerva Academy FC, said, “We must make good use of our resources to support the community in tough times. This was a small gesture from our end – providing support to those in need in our society.”

He also expressed his thanks to Shyam and his group for the swift operation of the entire drive. Shyam in turn expressed his gratitude towards Minerva and its Directors Mr. Ranjit Bajaj and Mrs. Henna Bajaj for sponsoring the meals and rations.
