Bundesliga side DSC Arminia Bielefeld have extended the contract with their long-serving captain Fabian Klos for another year until June 30, 2022. The 33-year-old striker joined Arminia Bielefeld back in 2011 and he will now go into his eleventh season at the club.

“The relationship between the club and Fabian is a very special one. Therefore, we are happy to go into an eleventh season, which is an truly extraordinary story in today’s professional football world. He will help us with his experience and qualities to reach our goals in our second Bundesliga season,” said Samir Arabi, Managing Director Sports, DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

Head coach Frank Kramer said: “Fabian has acquired abundant merits for DSC Arminia Bielefeld in the last decade, because of his extraordinary performances for so many years. Fabian was also an important figure in the last season when we managed to stay in the Bundesliga. We had very good discussions with him and we have defined a future pathway. We are happy that Fabian will remain with us at DSC Arminia.”

Fabian Klos looks forward to another season at Arminia: “There is not much to say after ten years. I’m happy and proud to play for this club in the Bundesliga for another year – especially because I get a chance to play in front of our fans once again.”
