Cádiz Club de Fútbol and the All India Football Federation launched a Football Management programme a little over a year ago. With the creation of the course, the club wants to contribute to the development of football in India as well as strengthen ties with the Asian country.

The 12 Indian students are already in Cádiz, where they have been welcomed at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium by the club’s president, Manuel Vizcaino, and vice-president Rafael Contreras. During this first visit, they were able to enjoy a tour of the stadium, in addition to getting to know the facilities where they will take lessons over the next few weeks.

“I am very happy to see that the students of the AIFF Masters have begun the Cadiz leg of their training programme. This ushers in a new era for Sports Management in India, as this will help them gain invaluable experience about the organisational and business side of sports from a top-tier La Liga club like Cadiz CF,” Mr. Kushal Das, General Secretary, All India Football Federation averred.

“On behalf of everyone at AIFF, I thank Cadiz CF for sharing their knowledge and experience with these students from India, and hope that they will further go on to take Indian Football forward together,” the General Secretary added.

Since the beginning of the programme, the students have been learning about different areas such as marketing, communication, leadership and project management skills, strategy, sponsorship, law, data management, ticketing, etc. Now they will put everything they have learned into practice and experience the day-to-day life of a Spanish top-flight club.

In fact, for the game between Cádiz Club de Fútbol and Atlético de Madrid on November 28, the Indian students will learn about the organisation and operations of a La Liga match. Finally, in addition to the different excursions and tourist activities that they will be taking part in over the next few weeks, they will also receive Spanish classes.
