Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC, on Saturday, announced the appointment of German Youth Coach Sabahudin Mislimi as the Club’s Head of Youth Development. The 27-year-old, who has previously worked alongside Blues’ Head Coach Marco Pezzaiuoli, will aim to add structure to Bengaluru FC’s Youth Development and Grassroots initiatives.

“The conversations with the people in charge here at BFC, and the impressions of Marco Pezzaiuoli convinced me of the exciting tasks right from the start. I was able to work well and successfully with Marco in Frankfurt where the focus was on developing young talent for the professional team with Marco in a crucial transitional role between the youth teams and the first-team squad. I’ve been able to get to know a great and committed team at this club, and I am excited about working together with them,” said Mislimi, after the formalities were complete on his appointment.

Mislimi began his coaching career as a Foundation Coach and Youth Manager at TuRa Untermünkheim in 2007. The UEFA ‘A’ License holder has been a speaker at the German Football Association (DFB) and at the TSG Hoffenheim Academy, where he also held the role of a Youth Coach and Scout.

“Mislimi brings with him the experience of working in several Youth Development programs around the world, and his appointment is something that I had personally discussed with Marco (Pezzaiuoli) earlier. His involvement with our age-group teams and our Youth Coaches at BFC Soccer Schools and Academy will further enhance the process of player development at the club, which will go on to help many more youngsters come through the ranks,” said club CEO, Mandar Tamhane.

Mislimi is the co-founder and Managing Director of Advance Football, a platform that provides workshops, seminars, conceptual work and interim management to Youth Development programs at clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt, Dynamo Kiev, VfL Wolfsburg, VfB Stuttgart and FC Basel, among others.
