Borussia Dortmund announce the signing of Niklas Süle

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Germany international Niklas Süle (26). The 1.95 m tall central defender will join BVB ahead of the 2022/23 on a free transfer from league rivals FC Bayern Munich. Süle’s contract with Bayern will end this summer.

“We are delighted to sign a German international in Niklas Süle on a free transfer and to bing him with us for four years,” said BVB Sporting Director Michael Zorc. Sebastian Kehl, who will succeed Zorc this summer said: “Niklas has revealed us in personal talks his great lust to join Borussia Dortmund. He has vast experiences, composure in build up play and the much needed physicality to take the next step with us.”

Süle, who started his Bundesliga career at TSG Hoffenheim, has so far played 213 Bundesliga matches (12 goals, 6 assists), 32 Champions League matches (1 goal) and has earned 37 caps for the Germany senior national team (1 goal). He has won the 2020 UEFA Champions League with FC Bayern.
