Indian senior team held by Bulpin’s boys

The Indian senior national team faced the India U23 team in a preparation match at the Ambedkar Stadium earlier today. Armando Colaco’s senior team had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the U23 boys.

The U23 team took the lead through Snehahish Chakraborty in the first half and managed to keep the clean sheet at half-time.

Indian senior team coach Armando Colaco used the match to test his bench and changed the whole team at the beginning of the second half.

Anthony Barbossa found the target for the seniors in the second period to make it 1-1. The score line endured till the final whistle was blown at the Ambedkar Stadium.

“I wanted to have a look at as many players as possible,” Armando said after the match.

“It’s getting better day by day and I’m happy with the progress. The new players are adjusting to my style,” he added.

India keeper Subrata Pal was in full praise of his coach. “The set-up is new. The coach is making the players understand his style of play and the entire squad had been supportive of his plan,” Subrata commented.
