Blackburn Rovers’ India Tour postponed

Blackburn Rovers have postponed their India Tour 2011 as a result of the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Rovers are planning to re-schedule the tour in consultation with the authorities and after carful observation of the security arrangement in India.

“Safety is always our top priority and after detailed discussions with our security and legal advisors we have been left with no option other than to postpone. While everyone is obviously disappointed, we all accept the circumstances and the reasoning. We are now looking forward to the trip to India in a few weeks time,” said an official statement by the club.

Blackburn Rovers were scheduled to face I-League side Pune FC in a friendly match at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi on July 22.
