Women's Int'l Friendly: Bahrain 1-2 India

The Indian women’s national team has won their international away match against Bahrain today.

The Indian team led by skipper Shasmita Malik won the match 2-1 at the Al Ahli Club Stadium, Mahooz (Bahrain).

Malik gave the Indian team an early lead in the 3rd minute and even added a second one in the 35th minute. Bahrain pulled one back just a minute later, but the Indian team managed to hold on and clinched an impressive win against the Arabs.

Chief coach Mohammad Shahid Jabbar and his team will be hoping to repeat their successful performance, when they take on Bahrain in their second match on Tuesday.

The international friendlies are part of Bahrain’s preparations for the West Asian Football Federations (WAFF) Women’s Championship, which will take place in Abu Dhabi from October 3 to 12.
