The Indian national team has defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in a Group A match of the SAFF Championship 2011.

Jeje Lalpekhlua, Sunil Chhetri and R. N. A. M. A. Bandara Warakagoda (own goal) scored the goals for the defending champions at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
