The Indian national team has defeated the Maldives 3-1 in their SAFF Championship 2011 semifinal match.

Syed Rahim Nabi and Sunil Chhetri (2x) scored the goals for the defending champions at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, while Shamveel Qasim scored the lone goal for the islanders.
