Jeje Lalpekhlua doubtful for AFC Challenge Cup

The Indian national team might miss the services of star striker Jeje Lalpekhlua at the AFC Challenge Cup 2012. The Pune FC player suffered an injury on his left knee during an I-League match of his club.

Jeje suffered a bone contusion and grade 2/3 injury to MCL of his left knee according to the MRI report released by the doctors. The youngster has been advised eight-weeks rest to the concern of India coach Savio Medeira.

Jeje is being treated by Dr. Anant Joshi and has been advised non weight bearing with crutches for 3 weeks. It will be followed by a minimum rehab for 3 weeks under Dr. Joshi’s supervision.

The Indian team is scheduled to take on Tajikistan in their AFC Challenge Cup 2012 opening match on March 9.
