PICTURES: FIFA President Blatter arrives in Nepal

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal on Thurday morning to inaugurate the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.

Blatter was welcomed by Yubaraj Lama (Nepalese National Sports Council Member Secretary), All Nepal Football Association President Ganesh Thapa and other ANFA officials on his arrivial at the Tribhuwan International Airport.

The FIFA President and Zhang Jilong, the acting President of the Asian Football Confederation,  visited Nepal’s Prime Minister Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai and the Nepalese President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav later in the day.

Blatter and Jilong continued their busy schedule with the opening ceremony of the AFC Challenge Cup 2012. Blatter enjoyed the Nepal vs Palestine match, which the hosts lost 0-2.

Blatter and the FIFA/AFC delegation will continue their South Asian journey tomorrow, when they hed to the Indian capital of New Delhi.
