Sunil Chhetri and his Sporting Clube de Portugal ‘B’ Team started their campaign in the Football Summer Cup By DFN with a convincing 4-1 win against Associação Académica de Coimbra (‘B’ Team).

Nii Plange (7th & 14th minute) scored a brace to hand Sporting a 2-0 lead at half-time. Sporting coach Oceano played with two line-ups in each half, while India star Sunil Chhetri played the the second half.

Turan increased the lead in the 47th minute and Armindo Bangna added a fourth one for the green-and-white side.

“We are at an early stage of the season and it is important to use every opportunity to play competitive matches. We were able to gain some valuable ideas on the team setup,” a happy Sporting coach Oceano told after the match.

Sporting will face Associação Naval 1º de Maio in their second game on Saturday.
