Sporting Clube de Portugal B lost a pre-season friendly match against Académica de Coimbra on Thursday. The match played in Rio Maior ended 2-1 in favour of Académica, a Liga ZON Sagres (1st Division) club from Coimbra.
India star Sunil Chhetri came on in the second half as Sporting B coach Oceano Andrade da Cruz used the match to test as many players as possible. Sporting took the lead through Bruma (12′), but Carlos Soleiro (65′) and Edinho (83′, pen) turned the match in favour of the 1st Division side.
Sunil has improved since his arrivial and he had a good game against Académica.
Meanwhile, Sporting used the occasion to introduce their squad for the upcoming season ahead of the match in Rio Maior. India star Sunil Chhetri was one of the much celebrated stars of the team from Lisbon.
