I-League side Salgaocar SC has been rechristened to Salgaocar FC at a function held at the Goa Marriott Resort in Panaji yesterday.
The Goan team has also launched a new club logo and an official song in the presence of dignitaries from various fields of live including sports and politics.
The club will be no longer a corporate division of V.M. Salgaocar & Bro Pvt. Ltd. but a separate legal entity according to the AFC Club License guidelines.
Goan Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar unveiled the new logo along with SFC President Shivanand V. Salgaocar, head coach Karim Bencharifa and captain Luciano Sabrosa.
“Although we keep innovating and developing, our traditions, our values and our commitment to football and to Goa remain the same,” said Shivanand V. Salgaocar.
