Indian Women starts with a win

The Indian Women’s national team has started its 2012 SAFF Women’s Championship campaign with a 3-0 win against Bangladesh.

The Indian team led by skipper Oinam Bembem Devi had no difficulties against the neighbours in their first match played at Colombo.

Yumnam Kamala Devi opened the score sheet for India in the 64th minute and Oinam Bembem Devi scored a second goal just 12 minutes later.

Alochana Senapati added another goal for the defending champions to secure a convincing 3-0 win.

India will face hosts Sri Lanka in their next match on Sunday.
